Working Outside Your Comfort Zone

The internet is compex and few people understand most of it’s complexities.

This makes working on the internet a real challenge for most people – because it involves working with things they don’t fully understand.

For your internet business this means you often need to work outside of your comfort zone – or at least outside of the box you usually work within.

Yesterday I set myself the task of putting a prepared video training course online with some micropayment downsells. Not really difficult and although I knew what I needed to do, because I hadn’t done this before, I ended up fiddling, prevaricating and wondering if I was doing everything in the right order. It was much easier to keep doing other jobs that I was more comfortable with from my enormous to do list.
So the real job I needed to complete only got 90% done.
And less than 100% means nothing new to sell for all of my hard work!

Perfection working online is a luxury unlikely to make you money – because nothing ever really gets finished.
Worries about whether you have done everything well enough don’t help – nothing beats just doing it and testing the results (unless of course you are Microsoft, eBay, Google or Amazon!)

The reality is that even if you are succesful and get hundreds of visitors to your site every day with a handful of people buying, and they run into a few teething problems – that’s actually a great situation to be in.
Most people understand things can go wrong – and it’s really how you resolve their problems that deternies whether they go away as happy, possibly repeat, customers or not.

You can even offer a useful bonus or two from your PLR collection to give them an even better deal as compensation for any trouble they have had.
And sorting out their problems is likely to be much easier than the hours of extra time you could spend getting your site closer to perfection in the first place.
