The Catch 22 of Making Money Online
So many people start out with a dream of making easy money online.
But most people quickly discover it’s nowhere near as easy as the guru’s selling their latest ‘get rich quick’ schemes would have us believe.
Unfortunately most people also pay a lot of money to learn this lesson.
What’s the catch?
It really is a catch 22.
There are just SO many things to do that most people either start to focus on just one thing or losing patience and keep trying new ideas and possibilities.
The basic problems come from three directions:
- buyers and identifying what they are willing to pay for
- products or services of value to sell
- traffic
Typically people concentrate on or two of these problems – but not all three.
Yet without ‘closing the loop’ it is almost impossible to create a business online – rather than a job that has you working all hours for less than minimum wage.
Any way you try to tackle this problem creates new problems.
If you can find a mentor who has just succeeded doing what you want to do – that’s great. BUT:
- either mentors are making so much money online they value their time at a price newbies can’t afford.
- Or they are actually making their money training or speaking = talking the talk, but not walking the walk
- Or they have no idea how to coach, mentor or teach others and end up wasting your time as well as taking your money
What are the ways out – to stack the odds in your favour of success?
- Join a group – leverage the experience of others to avoid making the same mistakes and do more of what works
- Understand that an offline business is actually little different from an offline business in many ways and follow a traditional business type of formula. In other words:
- Choose a niche you know there is a demand for, you know something about and have an interest in.
- Find or create something of value for potential customers.
- Continuously TEST that customers are prepared to spend their money buying your product or service and that your offer converts well.
- Only then use the real leverage power of the internet to scale your business to great heights.
Notice anything strange?
Whichever strategy you choose has NOTHING to do with the technology.
The internet is just a tool to help scale your business – and either you know how to use it yourself or you can pay others to do this part of your business for you.
Just like in a real business – where you probably pay an accountant rather than do all the book-keeping yourself?
