You’ve seen the sales pitch – 100 visitors translating into one or two customers to earn you anywhere from $27 to $97 each, or maybe more!

Now here’s the reality. How many visitors click for an offer on your landing page will depend on how many options you give them. If you are clever enough to give them only otion and one place to go, you will be doing really well if 10% click – but this number could well be only 1 or 2% or less.

So when starting an online business, make sure you are very clear about the value you are adding to any product or service you offer to customers. Yes it is possbile to copy or recycle other people content and offer a ‘me to’ affiliate product – but is your value really worth the profit you are hoping to make? Would you be comfortable taking money from your family or friends? Or would you suggest they could get something cheaper or better elsewhere?

So I have created a simple free spreadsheet to help you get organised and quickly on your way towards working profitably.

This Excel-2002 spreadsheet *** allows you to quickly and easily record the time and money you spend and earn online – providing summaries that you can sort by dates, activities $ (or £) etc. If you work, you will already know that every business needs to clooect this sort of information – on timesheets or in diaries for later billing or analysis. So even if you presently hate filling in your timesheet at work, maybe you can accept it is necessary, and start doing something similar for your online business? Then at the end of each week or month you will easily be able to see what you have spent your time and money on and the results produced. So you can easily start doing more of whatever is most productive!
